MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES
PSO offers various membership categories for physicians and allied health professionals involved in cancer care, based on qualifications and professional experience.
A fellow shall fulfill the following requirements:

Shall be a Filipino citizen, duly licensed to practice medicine in the Philippines, and registered with the Professional Regulation Commission.

Shall be a bona fide member of the Philippine Medical Association.

Shall have satisfactory moral, ethical, and professional standing in the specialty society and community.

Shall have passed the certifying examination of his/her specialty society/ board.

Shall be a registered Fellow or its equivalent and be an active member of his/her specialty society recognized by the Philippine Society of Oncology.

Shall have demonstrated special interest in a particular field of oncology such as training program or research.

A Senior Fellow is one who has been a Fellow in good standing and has reached the age of 65 years, or one who has been a Fellow in good standing for at least ten (10) consecutive years but has retired from the practice of medicine due to illness or incapacity.
Upon approval of his application, he will continue to be listed in the roster of Fellows, but shall not pay the annual dues or have the right to vote or be required to attend the meetings.

A licensed physician who has shown special interest in oncology but is not yet a registered fellow and active member of his/her specialty society/board its equivalent.

An allied health professional in oncology (oncology nurse, researcher, and other health specialists) who has demonstrated their ability to participate in the study and care of patients with neoplastic disease.

A Corresponding Member is a physician residing and licensed to practice medicine in a foreign country, with a special interest in the field of oncology.
An Honorary Member may be awarded by the Executive Council upon recommendation of the Committee on Credentials and Membership, based on the following criteria:

Shall have attained national or international distinction in
field of oncological and allied sciences. -
Shall have rendered meritorious humanitarian services or
endeavors for the promotion of cancer control.
An Honorary Member shall have the privileges of membership
but may not vote or hold office. He/She shall not pay annual dues.-
HOW TO BECOME A MEMBER
Step 1: Choose your membership category

Step 2: Prepare your requirements
Depending on the category, this may include:

Valid PRC license
-
PMA membership
-
Certification from your specialty board
-
Training or research in oncology

Sponsorship (for Affiliate Members)
Step 3: Submit your application
Send your application to the PSO Committee on Credentials and Membership for review.
Step 4: Wait for evaluation
The committee will assess your qualifications and forward their recommendation to the Executive Council.
Step 5: Get notified of the result
Once approved, you will be notified and listed in the official PSO registry of members.
Step 6: Take your oath
All new members must sign the Oath of Fellowship during their induction to the Society.
